Hey, we've all been there, it's the beginning of a new season and we are trying to figure what to wear. This is a fashion adventure that is not for the weak and weary. We need to invest time, physical and mental effort into putting together our look. We want to look good but don't want to spend beau coup money. Consider Time: When did you last wear it?

Didn't know clothes have an expiration date? Well they do, at least one in terms for practical use. A good way to figure out if you should get rid of something, is if you have not worn it in more than one year. Chances are that the item: does not fit, is no longer your style, or doesn't fit current lifestyle. Your clothes should complement you and your life, not hinder.

Consider the Color

If the color of the item has faded or is not at it's prime, do us all a favor and toss it. Faded and worn out clothes suggest a disregard to personal appearance and upkeep. If the color of the item does not "go" with other pieces, get rid of it. Try to keep clothes that have "classic colors" like: black, white, tan, brown, olive, navy blue, and gray. These colors tend to "go" well with other colors. You can grab, combine pieces and go, without having to think if they are going to make you look weird.

Consider the Size

If the item is too big or to small, toss it or donate it. Clothes should fit comfortably and be flattering. Clothes should project your best image.

Consider the Style

Wondering what to do with the funky bell bottoms and afghan? Think about these basic pieces, that should be in your wardrobe: pants, dress pants, dresses, skirts, shirts, jeans, tees, tanks, suits, jackets, coats, sweaters. The items should be able to be worn for fun outings as well as for business. If you have pieces that don't fit in, get rid of them.

Ladies, now we get to the good part. We get to supplement our wardrobes. We get to buy any missing pieces of clothes. We also get to buy accessories to enhance and polish off our look. Accessories can make a bland and small wardrobe look bigger and better. We can mix and match them to create different and interesting outfits. Don't be afraid to buy accessories! There are a few things to consider like: color, size, combination, and price.

Consider the Color

Remember you want the clothes to be mostly basic in color, with a few pieces in your favorite color. Accessories are a wonderful way to add and experiment with color. Add flavor to your style with bright colors, soft colors, and some basics. Have fun choosing from the many different options you have in terms of shades of color.

Consider the size

Try to find pieces that are of adequate size. That is to say in proportion to your body size. You don't want things that are to big or too small. Remember the key to enhance your look not diminish or overpower it.

Consider the Combination

Ladies, there is no need to wear every accessory you own at the same time. You also don't need to put on everything that is the same color. Just a few choice pieces that will give you a put together look. You want to communicate "I care", not "I scare" to others.

Consider the Price

Earrings, necklaces, hats, scarves, handbags, shoes, bracelets, rings, and brooches. So many accessories to choose from so little time.

At the end of the day, you want to have fun. You want to put your best self out there. Be a Diva, be happy with who you are on the inside and how you look on the outside.
